Q: Are you really visiting 500 bookstores?

A: Yes. I'll probably be able to sign at even more stores than that, if I don't have any major delays, like car trouble. Or a stroke.

Q: Why are you doing this?

A: To meet the booksellers. I used to be a bookseller, and I know how important they are to an author's success. I'll be giving away free books, signed coasters, magazines, and shaking a lot of hands. Each person I meet I'll thank in the acknowledgements of my fourth novel, DIRTY MARTINI. Booksellers are some of the coolest people on the planet. I love 'em.

Q: Are these scheduled signing?

A: No. These are the publishing equivalent of a drive-by. I stop in, say hello, sign some stock, and get on my way. While I love doing readings and meeting fans, for this tour I'm concentrating on the booksellers.

Q: What states and major cities will you be signing in?

A: Here's the abbreviated schedule:

Q: Are these dates set in stone?

A: No. I encourage people to visit my blog, www.jakonrath.blogspot.com, for daily updates. If I spill over into mid-September, it's no big deal.

Q: Do you have a complete bookstore list, with addresses?

A: Yes. You can download the list HERE.

Q: Will you visit any other states?

A: Possibly. I'll probably visit Michigan later in the year. I might also have enough time in August to visit Tallahasee Florida, Montgomery Alabama, and Memphis Tennessee--but this is still up in the air.

Q: What if your fans want to get a signed copy?

A: My BLOG will have daily updates on where I've been and where I'm going, so any fan will be able to find a signed book.

Q: What if a fan wants to meet you on the road and get a personalized copy, or buy you dinner, or invite you to stay at their house?

A: I highly encourage this kind of behavior in my fans! Anyone who wants to buy a weary traveler a burger, or let him rest in their spare bedroom for a night, will get free books. Plus, I'll name a character after them in a future book.

Q: How can fans contact you to set this up?

A: Take a look at my schedule to see if I'm going to be near you, and then email me. We'll talk.

Q: Isn't this going to be an impossible task, visiting all of these stores?

A: It will be difficult, but not impossible. I've got a route planned, plus I've got my trusty Garmin GPS navigation system.

Q: I'm a reporter and want to get in touch for an interview. How do I do that?

A: Email me--I check my emails daily. In the meantime, here's a Press Release, and articles from Forbes, Wired, and Publishers Weekly about the tour and my self-promotion escapades.

Q: What is a RUSTY NAIL anyway?

A: It's a drink that combines Drambuie and Scotch. It's also a damn good summer beach read. If you liked my previous books, this one is the best yet.

Q: Are you just saying that?

A: Nope. The ending will make you stand up and cheer. I promise.

Q: Are you really sure you want to do this? Five hundred bookstores?

A: Yeah. I'm sure. But ask me again in November...
