Signing copies of BLOODY MARY at BEA in New York. I was scheduled for 30 minutes, but I wound up staying there double that time because the line kept getting longer and longer.

I'm convinced that the line was so long because people thought they were in line for drinks, not books.

With fellow Hyperion author Elizabeth Becka.
Look, Mom, I finally bought a new suit!

Hanging out with John Lescroart, Lee Child, David Morrell, Robert Liparulo, and James Rollins. Among us, we have over 100 million books in print. (90,000 of those are mine)

On the left with author Blake Crouch, both of us trying to look psychotic.
On the right, with author Raymond Benson.

After doing the Backspace Conference, Karen Dionne and Christopher Graham had this done for me as a thank you gift. More work by the artist can be found at  http://cre8orscaricatures.com.

This is our dog, Jack Daniels, back when she was still a cute puppy.
She's currently 50 pounds and still growing.

I was the entertainment at the annual Cloak and Clue Society Banquet in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in June 2005, some of whom are pictured here.

Great group! I got there at 10:30am and found them all at the bar. Within seconds, someone had thrust a Guinness into my hand.

I think I'm going to move to Milwaukee.

Posing with author Reed Farrel Coleman.

Posing with authors James Rollins and Dylan Schaffer

Posing with author Robert W. Walker.

I'm such a poseur.

Doing a recent reading at Twilight Tales in Chicago.

Photo op with authors Tim Broderick and John Everson.

I've been South Parked.

It's never too early to start reading Konrath...

And now, a brief tour of the USA...

A serious moment with Brian Pinkerton in Chicago.

In Michigan with M.G. Kincaid, David Ellis, & William Kent Krueger.

Men of Mystery in California with Gary Phillips, Robert Levinson, & Lee Goldberg.

A tender Bouchercon moment with J.D. Rhoades.

In Wisconsin, explaining to Gregg Hurwitz how to write a decent thriller.

Some women I picked up in a hotel in Denver.

With Louise Ure in Arizona.

With Libby Fischer Hellmann in... I have no idea where we are.

Explaining to James Crumley that he should try writing about tough guys for a change. Perhaps with drinking problems.

The pile of envelopes I mailed out to libraries.

There were over 6000.  Each had to be printed, folded, labeled, stuffed, stamped, and sealed. Plus I also gave each a signed coaster. It took over 100 hours.

That's how much I love libraries!
