Contracts

Hello Joe and everyone else. I have a contract question. Does it have to specifically say in a contract that you surrender your electronic rights, or are those kept by you unless specifically sold? My publisher is giving me a hard time over electronic rights, but no where in the contract (a one page boilerplate work-for-hire contract) does it specifically say that I signed over my electronic rights. Since this is the case, do I still retain the rights? if so, everything's going on KIndle.

If I were you, I'd consult an attorney about this. My contract does specify electronic rights, so I would make the case that if they're not in the contract, they're not covered by the publisher. However, I'm no lawyer!
